You can choose between two airports: LISBOA (PORTELA) and PORTO (FRANCISCO SÁ CARNEIRO)

Montemor-o-Velho is located between the both cities, about 200 km away.

Forte Express is a bus shuttle service between Lisbon and Porto airports that will drive you directly to the festival. There is also the possibility of returning back to the airports.

If you prefer to use public transportation follow these instructions:

FROM LISBON AIRPORT TO THE TRAIN STATION

At the airport catch the subway to ORIENTE (3rd station from the airport)

1- Get a VIVA Viagem Card (The Viva viagem card is an electronic card that is validated by approaching the card to the contactless validators). In the Metro network, these cards can be purchased and loaded directly from the Automatic Ticket Vending Machines and Ticket Offices. The Viva viagem card costs 0.50€ and can be reloaded unlimitedly during one year after purchase. The Metro single ticket costs 1.45€.

2- Always remember to validate your ticket at the entrance gates.

3- At ORIENTE train station catch a train to COIMBRA-B

At Coimbra-B station, you will have the Festival bus connection to the center of Montemor-o-Velho*

FROM PORTO AIRPORT TO THE TRAIN STATION

At the airport catch the Metro do Porto to CAMPANHÃ

1- Get a ANDANTE BLUE TICKET Card (The Andante Card is an electronic card that is validated by approaching the card to the contactless validators). These cards can be purchased and loaded directly from the Automatic Ticket Vending Machines and Ticket Offices. The ANDANTE card costs 0.60€ and can be reloaded.

2- Validate your ANDANTE ticket when you start your travel. You must validate, at most, 10 minutes before your travel starts. For validating correctly, put your ANDANTE ticket near the validation machine.

3- At CAMPANHÃ train station catch a train to COIMBRA-B

At Coimbra-B station, you will have the Festival bus connection to the center of Montemor-o-Velho*

TRAIN

Train travels are made through CP-COMBOIOS DE PORTUGAL.

Fruit of the partnership between CP and FESTIVAL FORTE, when you present the ticket for the festival at the train station’s ticket office, you have the following discounts:

– 30% discount on Inter-City (Inter-Cidades), Inter-Regional and Regional trains to and from Coimbra or Alfarelos

– Travel by the urban train Coimbra from and back to Alfarelos for only 4 EUR

INTERNATIONAL TRAINS

All international trains coming to Portugal stop at Coimbra-B.

You can check schedules and prices at the website of RENFE.

There will also be regular transport provided by FESTIVAL FORTE between Coimbra-B, Alfarelos and Figueira da Foz stations and the center of Montemor-o-Velho’s village*

BUS

Arrive by bus from anywhere in the country. Take a bus to Coimbra or Figueira da Foz using Rede Expressos.

The connections between Coimbra-B, Figueira da Foz and Alfarelos will be provided by FESTIVAL FORTE

COIMBRA-B – In front of the train station.

ALFARELOS – Opposite to the station’s entrance.

MONTEMOR-O-VELHO – Ticket Office and Camping

FIGUEIRA DA FOZ – Sweet Atlantic Hotel & Spa

Alternatively to the FF SHUTTLES you can use the regular bus lines from MOISES  between Coimbra, Montemor-o-Velho and Figueira da Foz. Check the timetables below:

If you’re traveling by car follow these instructions:

Travel from Lisbon (200km):

1 – Follow Highway A8 and then A17
2 – Exit at Figueira da Foz and catch A14 the direction of Coimbra.
3 – Turn on exit 4 and follow the national route: Estrada Nacional N111 until Montemor-o-Velho.

Travel from Porto (135km):

1 – Follow highway A1 in the direction of Lisbon.
2 – Turn on exit 13 to Figueira da Foz / Montemor-o-Velho.
3 – Stay on A14 and turn on exit 5 to the national route: Estrada Nacional N111, in the direction of Montemor-o-Velho.
4 – Follow the route Estrada Nacional N111 until you arrive at Montemor-o-Velho.

From other origins:

1 – Go in the direction of Figueira da Foz
2 – Catch the highway A14 towards Coimbra and follow the national route Estrada Nacional N111 until you arrive at Montemor-o-Velho.

Alternatively:

1 – Go in the direction of Coimbra.
2 – Catch the highway A14 in the direction of Figueira da Foz and exit on Montemor-o-Velho, then follwing national route Estrada Nacional N111
or
3 – Get on the national route: Estrada nacional N111, and go in the direction of Figueira da Foz until you arrive in Montemor-o-Velho.
